You Can Make a Difference!
We are looking for funding to purchase adjoining land to increase the size of our facility. Because of our space limitation, we have been forced to turn down many requests to take special need animals.
There are very few facilities that can handle special need animals. We can. And we want to. But we are unable to do so because of our severe space limitations.
It is heartbreaking to turn away an animal; the most likely outcome for the animal will be euthanasia because there are so few facilities willing and able to take on the additional responsibility and expense of caring for these very precious individuals. Our Kira, a 23-year-old cougar, is one such individual with very special needs because of her geriatric condition. She is doing exceptionally well, enjoys people and activities around her, and has a high quality of life. We were the only facility able to accept her. She is treasured by our Foundation and deserves to live a full life, as do all special need animals.
We also need to be able to expand our educational programs. We are regrettably turning away many children who want to visit the facility. The adjoining property will allow many more visitors, and many more programs.
We desperately need funding to acquire adjoining land. If you have suggestions on how to raise money, or know of grants specific to expansion of non-profit organizations, please forward your information to us as soon as possible, by email to admin@kirshner.org, or by U.S. mail to the address below.
